Reaching For Water

I can almost imagine the leaves of this cactus reaching out, in hope of finding water. This is one last photograph from Red Rock Canyon in Nevada.

Black and White Landscape, Ansel Adams Style

Ok, I am no Ansel Adams. But it is fun to try to emulate and play with what he did. For those who don’t know, he is best known for his black and white landscape images. Here’s another photograph from Red Rock Canyon in Nevada, this time given the monochrome treatment.

Another Red Rock Canyon Photograph

Another photograph from Red Rock Canyon, just west of Las Vegas. Its amazing how clear the different layers of rock are.

20 minutes west of Las Vegas you can escape the craziness and find yourself out in the desert.

Cake Pops!

I saw these for the first time this weekend at a birthday party my son went to. Had to have a picture!

A little Hope

This Photo was taken in the town of Hope, Alaska in June 2011. Hope is located on the Kenai Peninsula, south of Anchorage. Part of the town was destroyed by an earthquake on Good Friday, 1964.

Mount Revelstoke Flower Meadow

I recently got back from a family trip to The Rockies. We rented a car in Vancouver and drove to Banff, via Kamloops, Revelstoke, Golden and Jasper. I will post a few of the photographic highlights here. The first one is from the top of Mount Revelstoke. The reason I could get so low is because I’m actually standing about 1.5m below the base of the flowers, thanks to an adjacent retaining wall!

Lilian and Mike celebrate getting married Tofino style!

It’s hard to beat a beach wedding. Especially when the beach is in Tofino, BC.

Devonshire Fields

A field near Salcombe, Devon. Mmmm, reminds me of lazy days on the beach and cream teas…
